(WNFL/WIAA) – The Kaukauna Ghosts advanced to the WIAA state baseball tournament semifinals with a 4-1 win over River Falls Monday at Fox Cities Stadium in Grand Chute.
Carson Gates pitched a complete game for Kaukauna, allowing 1 run on 5 hits and 1 walk while striking out 5 River Falls batters.
Bron Schaefer and Brayden Jenkins both had 2 hits for Kaukauna which is now 22-7.
Kaukauna trailed 1-0 through 4 innings before scoring twice in the fifth and twice in the sixth.
Kaukauna scored its 2 runs in the fourth inning on an error, catcher’s interference, a double by Jenkins and another error.
The 2 runs in the sixth inning scored on a walk, a double by Blake Vandeloo and a single by Schaefer.
Ethan Jeffers took the loss for River Falls which finishes with a 18-10 record.
