(ST NORBERT COMMUNICATIONS) DE PERE – St. Norbert College track and field qualified three athletes to competition at the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship.
The Green Knights will be represented on the men’s side by senior Ezra Schermacher and junior Jacob Klitzke. Junior Eden Maranell will compete in the women’s championship. The meet will be held Thursday-Saturday, May 21-23 at Veterans Memorial Stadium in La Crosse.
Schermacher, a Plymouth native, is competing at the NCAA outdoor championship for the first time. Schermacher qualified in the pole vault after posting a season-high mark of 16 feet 5 1/4 inches. He is tied for the No. 15 seeding in the event. The pole vault will be contested at Noon Saturday.
Klitzke, a Shiocton native, will compete in the shot put for the second consecutive NCAA outdoor championship. Klitzke, who finished 17th at the 2025 championship, qualified after a season-best mark of 56-10 to be the No. 16 seeding in the event. The shot put will be held at 3 p.m. Friday.
Maranell, a Howards Grove native, is competing in her second NCAA outdoor championship. Maranell, who competed in the triple jump in 2025, qualified in the heptathlon this season. The heptathlon, in which Maranell featured a season-best mark of 4,846 points to qualify, is set for 10:40 a.m. Thursday and 12:30 p.m. Friday. Maranell is the No. 8 seeding in the seven-event multi.
