SHAWANO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — One person died in a house fire in Shawano Wednesday night, police said.
Crews responded to the home in the 200 block of E. Center Street at 6:53 p.m. Wednesday, said police Lt. Heidi Cartwright.
While fighting the fire, one individual was found inside. Despite medical care, the person was declared dead at the hospital.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
