GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Green Bay Packers have vowed to be more active with non-football events at Lambeau Field, and the upcoming Zach Bryan show is the latest example.
“Zach Bryan is just a global superstar,” said Megan Roberson, Packers Manager of Booking & Event Operations. “If you look at the tour that he’s about to put on, he’s going globally.”
The ability to bring Bryan to Green Bay required the Packers to be flexible in having the show on a Tuesday night. Previous concerts in the stadium bowl were on weekends.
“People come to Lambeau Field on Monday nights, Sunday nights, and again it’s for football, but we are such an attractive destination that we feel confident it will be a successful show,” said Roberson.
“We’re in October and the event isn’t until May so plenty of time to plan those vacation days,” said Nick Meisner, Discover Green Bay Vice President of Marketing & Communications.
Meisner says the Packers’ willingness to bring in more events can be a gamechanger for small businesses.
“These are opportunities during times where, especially like the hockey game in February, that can be a little slower for our tourism businesses,” said Meisner.
The Zach Bryan show on May 4th will be the earliest the Packers have held a concert in the bowl, beating Luke Combs May 15th date by 11 days.
The latest was 11 years ago when Kenny Chesney played on June 20th.
The range of those dates provides a month and a half of open dates if the Packers wanted to schedule another show for next year.
“I would say we’re working behind the scenes to drive that economic impact to the area, have visitors come to Lambeau Field, but nothing confirmed so stay tuned,” said Roberson.
Bryan is a singer-songwriter from Oklahoma whose music is known as a blend of folk, Americana and country. He has never performed in the Green Bay area before. His most popular songs include “Something in the Orange” and “I Remember Everything.”
Opening acts are John Fogerty and Fey Fili.
Fans can sign up for a presale that begins at 10 a.m. Oct. 21 on Bryan’s website. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Oct. 23.
