Restraining order granted against former local radio host’s wife

(WTAQ) — After radio host Natalie Jansen of 101 WIXX was granted a restraining order in July against two people, one of which being now former 95.9 KISS-FM host Richard Dey (known on-air as Otis Day), Dey’s wife Melinda also cannot contact Jansen.

A restraining order against Melinda Dey was granted in court Friday morning.

The case stemmed from a Facebook page in which malicious comments were made about WIXX and Jansen.

On Friday, Court commissioner Kate Zuidmulder examined emails Melinda Dey sent under a false alias to WIXX Human Resources and others within in the company, containing inaccurate information.

“There was no question in my mind that there was a concerted effort, especially in being a fictitious person, to continuously email someone who may put Miss Jansen’s job in jeopardy, put her character in jeopardy…”

The restraining order against Melinda Dey will remain in effect until October 2030.
