(LEARFIELD) – Jackson Chourio tied the score with a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth, then Luis Lara singled in Brice Turang with the winner in the 10th in a 4-3 win by the Milwaukee Brewers over the Chicago Cubs at American Family Field in Milwaukee Tuesday night.
Chourio’s home run came with 2 outs in the ninth inning and the Cubs leading 3-1 after Chicago scored twice off Milwaukee closer Trevor Megill in the top half of the inning.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said that Chourio loves moments like that.
The walk-off win means Milwaukee wins the high-pressure three-game series and can go for the sweep this afternoon.
Chourio finished 4-for-5 with three runs batted in.
DL Hall earned the win.
Hall talked about this being the Brewers’ 40th comeback win.
Jacob Misiorowski started for the Brewers and allowed 1 run on 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 9 over 6 1/3 innings.
Murphy talked about Misiorowski’s outing.
Misiorowski talked about what he’s learned after facing the Cubs for the fourth time this season.
Caleb Thielbar took the loss for Chicago.
Logan Henderson starts the series finale for the Brewers. Henderson is 9-3 with a 2.48 ERA.
The Cubs will send Kevin Gausman to the mound. He is 9-11 with a 4.38 ERA.
The Brewers are now 90-56 while the Cubs are 81-65 in the National League Central Division.
In the race for the league’s best record, the Brewers have a 1 1/2 game lead of the LA Dodgers who are 88-57 while the Atlanta Braves are third at 85-60.
