CLINTONVILLE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Clintonville police officer was injured after they were struck by a vehicle.
On Tuesday, an officer responded to N. 12th Street for a 911 open-line call.
When the officer approached the area, they saw a vehicle in the driveway.
Police say a male, sitting in the driver’s seat, was arguing with a female who was outside of the vehicle.
The male subject started the vehicle and did not comply when the officer instructed him to turn the vehicle off.
The driver struck the officer with his vehicle as he was driving away. After the strike, the male driver drove away at a high-rate of speed.
The officer was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. The officer was later released on Wednesday.
The driver was later located in Fond du Lac County and taken into custody.
The incident remains under investigation.
