MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Jose Gamez was sentenced Monday to six years in prison for his role what police described as the largest fentanyl pill seizure in Wisconsin history.
Gamez was previously convicted of possession with intent to deliver fentanyl. He was also placed on extended supervision for six years by Judge Jerilyn Dietz.
Before the sentence was issued, Gamez apologized for his actions, noting his time in jail has allowed him to better understand the impact of drugs in the community.
He is the third person sentenced in the case. Trevor Hock was sentenced to 15 years in prison and Dylan Hock was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
A January 2025 search of their vehicle revealed 43.2 pounds of fentanyl, disguised as prescription medication. It was destined for distribution in Northeast Wisconsin.
The estimated street value of the seized narcotics is approximately $5.8 million. Officials said this was the largest fentanyl pill seizure ever in Manitowoc County history. It is also believed to be the largest ever in Wisconsin.
