NEENAH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A new online form is helping guide layoffs, closures and recovery after the Fox Valley tornado.
The Fox Valley Workforce Development Board launched a support form to help workers and business owners share how they’ve been affected by the July 27 tornado, whether through sudden layoffs or temporary or permanent workplace closures.
Anyone who submits the form will be connected with a local workforce professional. These specialists are ready to offer compassionate, hands-on guidance for essential recovery services, including:
- Unemployment Claims: Step-by-step help for displaced workers navigating the Unemployment Insurance filing process.
- WARN Notices: Compliance support and transition planning for business owners who must file local worker notices.
- Free Career Training: Enrollment in retraining classes fully paid for by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
- Job Seeker Services: Personalized help with building resumes and finding new employment opportunities.
Community members are encouraged to fill out the form as soon as possible so local teams can start coordinating personal support immediately and to determine if additional resources are needed to serve dislocated workers and employers in the region.
