(WTAQ-WLUK) — The water system is safe for drinking following repairs completed by Fox Crossing Utilities and the Utility District for the Village of Fox Crossing.
The Wisconsin DNR has approved the immediate lifting of the Boil Water Advisory for Winnebago, Outagamie, and Calumet Counties.
The Boil Water Advisory was issued on July 27 for Village of Fox Crossing east of the Fox River, City of Menasha residents and businesses served by the Fox Crossing Utilities east water system, City of Appleton residents and businesses served by the Fox Crossing Utilities east water system, and Village of Harrison residents and businesses served by the Fox Crossing Utilities east water system.
The advisory was put in place on the 27th due to low water pressure from damage to the water system.
Customers are advised to continue conserving public water for the next 7 days in order to allow system pressure and storage facilities to recover, and reduce risk of water loss from potential water leaks.
Additional recommended actions to take include:
- Ice and any beverages prepared during the Boil Water Advisory with unboiled water should be discarded
- Clean pet water bowls with soap and water before refilling them
- If you notice your water is cloudy or discolored, please run your cold water tap until the water turns clear (about 2-4 minutes)
Optional actions recommended to take include replacing water filters that are connected to the water system (such as refrigerators or under-sink systems).
