(ANAHEIM) – The Milwaukee Brewers got strong pitching and timely hitting to defeat the Los Angeles Angels 3-1 in Anaheim Saturday night.
The win gives the Brewers a 69-41 record, the best record in Major League Baseball.
Robert Gasser allowed 1 run on 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 6 over 5 innings.
Chad Patrick followed with 2 innings of 1-hit relief during which he struck out 5 batters with Abner Uribe and Trevor Megill combining to pitch perfect eighth and ninth innings for Milwaukee.
Trailing 1-0, Jake Bauers tied the game for Milwaukee with his 20th home run in the fourth inning.
Brice Turang and Cooper Pratt added run-scoring singles in the eighth and ninth innings, respectively.
The 2 teams wrap up the series this afternoon.
Jacob Misiorowski who is 11-4 with a 1.58 ERA will pitch for the Brewers.
Walbert Urena who is 6-7 with a 2.70 ERA will start for the Angels.
