(WNFL) – Jacob Misiorowski was magnificent in Sunday’s 11-2 win by the Milwaukee Brewers over the Colorado Rockies at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
Misiorowski pitched 5 innings, struck out the first 7 batters he faced, allowed 1 run on 1 hit and finished with 12 strikeouts.
The Brewers offensively pounded out 14 hits including 2 each by Jackson Chourio, Jake Bauers, Cooper Pratt, Luis Lara and Joey Ortiz.
Lara and Pratt both drove in 2 runs while Andrew Vaughn hit a solo home run to spark a 4-run sixth inning that broke the game open. Lara added a run-scoring double in the inning while Pratt had a 2-run double and Chourio a run-scoring groundout.
Misiorowski improved to 11-4 with the win while Colorado starting pitcher Kyle Freeland fell to 2-11.
Freeland allowed 5 runs on 6 hits in 5 1/3 innings.
The Brewers begin a 3-game home stand in San Francisco against the Giansts Monday night.
Brandon Sproat who is 3-5 with a 5.09 ERA is the scheduled starter for Milwaukee.
Tyler Mahle who is 2-9 with a 5.31 ERA is scheduled to start for the Giants.
