(WTAQ-WLUK) — Severe weather that moved through Wisconsin on Monday prompted several tornado warnings across the state, with the National Weather Service still working to determine what, if any, tornadoes touched down.
The NWS’s Green Bay office said it is still finalizing details from Monday’s storm and plans to release full information at a later date, including any ratings and timing. Some of Monday’s tornado warnings were radar-indicated, while others were issued based on observations.
NWS Green Bay confirmed that it “received very limited damage reports, so surveys are not planned.” However, the office said it received a few reports of funnel clouds, along with photos of likely tornadoes near Stratford in Marathon County, near Tigerton in Shawano County, and near Zoar in Menominee County.
As of Thursday, an official report from NWS had not yet been released, but initial storm reports were issued Monday night after the severe weather.
Those initial reports included multiple reports of a tornado located about 4 miles northwest of Stratford, roughly a mile south of March Rapids Park. The report also said drone video captured a tornado three miles east-northeast of Mattoon near the Red River, and that storm chaser video captured a tornado four miles west of Tigerton across the street from Spring Brook Tavern on the south side of County Highway M.
The initial report also indicated five funnel clouds were spotted within the NWS Green Bay office coverage area. NWS Green Bay said it plans to review any additional information it receives for further investigation.
