NEW LONDON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Those affected by the April flooding in Waupaca, Outagamie and Winnebago counties can learn more about how to receive aid at a center opening Monday in New London.
The counties’ emergency management departments, along with Wisconsin Emergency Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, are hosting the disaster recovery center at the New London Public Museum, 406 S. Pearl St.
Residents and business owners are strongly encouraged to apply for FEMA disaster assistance before visiting the center. Registration can be done online, through FEMA’s app or by calling 1-800-621-3362.
At the DRC, people can get help completing FEMA applications, have their questions answered, receive application status updates, learn about eligibility and required documentation, be connected with U.S. Small Business Administration representatives, and learn about state and local recovery resources.
Those visiting the DRC should bring:
- Government-issued identification
- Insurance information
- Photos of disaster-related damage
- Repair estimates or receipts, if available
- Banking information for direct deposit, if applicable
The DRC will be open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturdays.
