Hundreds of listeners and area businesses came together to raise over $34,000 Friday for the 20th annual Families of Children with Cancer Radiothon on WTAQ.
Between phone and text donations, over $34,000 was raised for Families of Children with Cancer, an organization that supports families who have a child that has been diagnosed with cancer in Northeastern Wisconsin & Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Their mission is to provide advocacy, education, emotional support, financial support and hope to those families.
It was sponsored by Nicolet Bank and American Metal Roofs.
“Couldn’t be more proud of Northeast Wisconsin,” said WTAQ Operations Director Jason Hillery. “Our listeners show up for this every year. We couldn’t be happier doing this for an organization that does amazing things for families in our area.”
The 2026 donation total surpasses the 2025 total, which stood at just over $27,000 and won Best Significant Community Impact at the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Awards in Madison back in May.
“It’s been 20 years and the generosity of our amazing listeners blows me away each and every time,” said WTAQ morning host Matt Z. “We couldn’t be happier doing this for an organization that does amazing things for families in our area.”
The $34,000 does not include online donations. You can still donate online here.
