(LEARFIELD/WNFL) -Milwaukee Bucks general manager Jon Horst says his team has a chance to build from a place of strength after trading superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
NBA.com reports the return in the trade with Miami is reasonable, if not substantial.
Milwaukee has hired a coach in Taylor Jenkins who has a track record of developing young players.
Wisconsin native Tyler Herro has the ability to replace a lot of Antetokounmpo’s scoring, but not other facets of his game like rebounding or defense.
First-round draft picks Brayden Burries and Nate Ament may be the next faces of the franchise.
CBSSports.com reports that Burries may be the MVP of the NBA’s Las Vegas Summer League.
Burries in 3 games in shooting, rebounding and passing well. He is also playing good defense and stretching the floor.
CBSsports also says that the Bucks’ other first-round pick – Nate Ament – appears to be a work in progress as he didn’t to score in double figures in any of the games but erupted for 23 points in a 110-91 win over Charlotte on Wednesday.
Ament talked about how he and fellow rookie Brayden Burries feel about having to lead this team back to a winning record.
Jenkins talked about what will it take to get this Bucks team back to a winning record.
Horst said that Burries and Ament both show size and speed as rookies in the NBA.
The Bucks finished their Las Vegas Summer League play with a record of 1-3.
