DOOR COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The state granted a pollution permit to a Sevastopol dairy farm Wednesday, despite objections raised by neighbors.
Gilbert Farms sought the WPDES permit for its facility at 5186 County T for an expansion by 1,000 animal units. Residents raised concerns regarding air and water quality issues.
The permit added several conditions requiring groundwater monitoring and manure storage.
The 45-page report includes DNR responses to specific concerns raised during the permitting process.
The permit is valid through June 30, 2031.
