(WTAQ-WLUK) — Due to hot and humid weather moving in, an air quality advisory has been issued for some parts of the lakeshore Monday.
Through 11 p.m., the ozone air quality index is expected to reach the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (USG) orange level in Door, Kenosha, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Sheboygan counties.
It’s advised for everyone to reduce long or intense outdoor activity. Take more breaks, do less intense activities. Sensitive groups may want to consider moving activities indoors.
Heat and humidity creates ozone-dense air which can create poor air quality conditions. These conditions tend to be more concentrated along the lakeshore due to the close proximity to water and the lake breeze.
