(LEARFIELD) – A pair of solo home runs provided all the offense needed as the Brewers won a series opener against Cleveland Tuesday night, 2-1 at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
Brice Turang and Garrett Mitchell went deep, with Mitchell’s shot in the seventh providing the winning margin.
Aaron Ashby earned his 10th win despite being the least effective of the five Milwaukee pitchers.
Trevor Megill slammed the door for his ninth save.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy talked about Megill rounding into shape.
Rookie Robert Gasser started and shut out the visitors into the sixth inning.

Heralded rookie Cooper Pratt made his first major league start and went hitless in 3 at-bats.
Pratt said that he was able to soak it all in.

Another rookie, Brandon Sproat, starts tonight. Sproat is 1-4 with a 5.70 ERA.
He will be opposed on the mound by Cleveland’s Gavin Williams who is 9-3 with a 3.32 ERA.
