(LEARFIELD) – The Milwaukee Brewers had the tying run in scoring position with no outs in the bottom of the ninth, but couldn’t bring it home.
The San Francisco Giants claimed a 1-0 shutout victory behind veteran starter Logan Webb.
Robert Gasser gave up a fifth-inning home run that left him with the pitching loss.
Gasser said he pitched more aggressively in the zone.
Gasser said that he also used the defense behind him.
He said that tonight felt like a step in the right direction.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said that he was really proud of Gasser’s effort.
Milwaukee was held to three hits by Logan Webb and a pair of relievers.
Rookie Coleman Crow is scheduled to start the final game of the season’s first four-game series.
San Francisco will counter with former Brewers player Adrian Houser. Houser is 2-5 with a hefty 5.59 ERA.
