OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Oshkosh’s fire chief accepted a new position outside Wisconsin.
Chief Mike Stanley will become the new Deputy Fire Chief with the city of Greeley, Colorado.
He will continue as Oshkosh fire chief through Jan. 29, 2025.
“Mike shared with me that although this was a difficult personal and professional decision for him, the opportunity with the city of Greeley will allow him to best assist a number of his family members that reside in his home state of Colorado,” said Oshkosh interim city manager John Fitzpatrick.
Chief Stanley has served as the Oshkosh Fire Chief since 2018. Prior to that, he worked in various positions for the city of Aurora, Colorado, with his most recent assignment being the Operations Division Commander, where he oversaw the Medical Branch and all Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for the 400 member Aurora Fire Rescue Department. He also earned an Associate Degree from Red Rocks Community College, a Bachelor’s Degree from Charter Oak State College, and a Master’s Degree from Colorado State University. Additionally, Chief Stanley has earned designation as a Chief Fire Officer (CFO) from the Center for Public Safety Excellence.
