(247NEWSOURCE) West Sacramento, CA – The Oakland A’s will call West Sacramento home for the next several years. After this season, the A’s will no longer have a home at the Oakland Coliseum and will instead call Sutter Health Park on the banks of the Sacramento River their temporary home. A’s owner John Fisher says Major League Baseball and Sacramento are a good match.
The home of the Triple-A Sacramento River Cats will continue to host both teams. The A’s will finish this season in Oakland and move to the state Capitol for the following three years while their Las Vegas ballpark is being constructed. West Sacramento Mayor Martha Guerrero says the city is “looking forward to hosting visitng MLB teams and fans” and calls it “a great day” for the whole region.
