(247NEWSSOURCE/LEARFIELD) – The Milwaukee Brewers dropped the third game of their series with the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park in Boston on Wednesday, losing 5-0
Sal Frelick doubled for one of his team’s four hits.
In a critique of how his team played, Brewers manager Pat Murphy said that the team needs to make some plays when the guys at the top of the lineup aren’t hitting.
He added that the team did not play well defensively.
Red Sox starting pitcher Sonny Gray allowed 3 hits and 2 walks over 6 1/3 innings while striking out 2.
The Red Sox took a 3-0 lead in the third inning on a bases-loaded walk to Willson Contreras, a single by Wilyer Abreau and a sacrifice fly by Trevor Story.
Boston added 2 more runs in the seventh inning on a single by Story and a run-scoring groundout by Caleb Durbin off reliever Jake Woodford.
Shane Drohan surrendered three runs over two-and-two-thirds innings in his MLB debut, getting the loss.

He said that he’s glad to get the first appearance out of the way.
The Brewers will return home Friday to begin a series with the Washington Nationals.
