(LEARFIELD) – The NFL has approved a rule change that could speed up Micah Parsons’ return to the field for the Green Bay Packers next season.
Under the new rule, players placed on the reserve physically‑unable‑to‑perform list can begin practicing after missing just two regular‑season games, instead of four.
Parsons is recovering from ACL surgery after going down in December, and the team says there’s no set timetable with the season still months away.
If Parsons opens 2026 on the PUP list, he could start practicing as early as Week Three.
The Packers also expect several other injured starters back later this year, including Tucker Kraft, Devonte Wyatt and Zach Tom.
Where are the Packers headed:
Packers GM Brian Gutekunst talked with the media at the NFL annual meeting. One thing he was quizzed about was Matt LaFleur’s low rating in an NFLPA survey. Does Gutekunst think that’s due to a lack of veteran player leadership?
Gutekunst also talked about what’s next for the Packers before the NFL Draft begins on April 23 in Pittsburgh.
