(LEARFIELD) – The Green Bay Phoenix women’s basketball team began getting ready for this Friday’s NCAA women’s basketball tournament game at Minnesota against the Golden Gophers on Monday.
Phoenix coach Kayla Karius said that she hopes the close proximity to Green Bay will make it easy for fans to go see the game.
Karius talked about playing in the Williams Arena.
Karius talked about the 4th-seeded Minnesota Gophers.
She said that she’s familiar with the Gopher players.
Karius said that the Gophers are talented and battle tested.
So why does Karius think her Phoenix can beat the Gophers and advance in the tournament?
The Phoenix who went 25-8 this season are 6-9 all-time against Minnesota.
