(GREEN BAY ATHLETICS) ST. PAUL, Minn. –On Thursday night, the Green Bay Men’s Basketball team fell on the road to the St. Thomas Tommies 80-61.
Mac Wrecke led the Phoenix (1-3) with 10 points and two steals while Justin Allen finished with nine points and three rebounds in 15 minutes off the bench.
The Tommies spread the ball around well, led by a 20-point, six-rebound performance from Nolan Minessale. Isaiah Johnson-Arigu, Ben Oosterbaan, and Nick Janowski also finished in double figures for UST.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Tommies controlled the game from the opening tip, going up 4-0 and then eventually 20-7 within the game’s first eight minutes. The Phoenix momentarily brought it back to single digits at 24-13 after a top-of-the-key Allen three with 9:06 to go in the frame. St. Thomas then pushed the lead back into double digits, building up a 50-26 cushion before the break.
Green Bay battled in the second half, outscoring St. Thomas 35-30, but it proved not to be enough as UST cruised to the 80-61 win.
GAME NOTES

» GB lost the turnover battle, 15-9.

COMING UP
Green Bay will conclude the weekend at Minnesota on Saturday, with tip-off scheduled for 8 p.m. CST at Williams Arena. Next week, the Phoenix will play in the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands from Nov. 21-24. The weekend will start on Friday, Nov. 21, when Green Bay takes on Yale.
