HOWARD, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Volunteers are making a difference in the Green Bay area this week, packing hundreds of thousands of meals for people in need.
Monday marked the start of the 2025 Feed My Starving Children Green Bay MobilePack. In just a four-day span, roughly 3,500 volunteers will converge upon Green Bay Community Church in Howard to pack more than 650,000 meals in eight rotating sessions.
The Christian nonprofit organization then distributes the meals to malnourished kids and individuals in nearly 70 countries around the world.
“1,789 will have a daily meal for an entire year, thanks to the work we do here,” said Ryan Knott, event supervisor for Green Bay MobilePack. “I definitely don’t take it for granted. This work is really, really special to me and all my coworkers.”
There’s no other job quite like it. No other volunteering experience quite like it. It’s really heartwarming doing good for the world each and every day I clock in.
According to FMSC, hunger causes nearly half of the world’s deaths in children under five years old. From this data, FMSC estimates at least 6,200 children die each day from causes related to undernutrition.
If you’re interested in helping out, FMSC’s food packing sessions continue through Thursday at the Green Bay Community Church. New volunteers are always welcome. Click here to see the open slots.
