(247NEWSSOURCE) – Wisconsin quarterback Billy O’Neil told reporters he’s been getting the majority of first-team reps ahead of Saturday’s matchup with number 20 Michigan.
O’Neil has played the majority of Wisconsin’s snaps at quarterback this season, due to a knee injury for Billy Edwards Jr., who has also practiced with the starters.
O’Neil has thrown for 640 yards, five touchdowns and five interceptions.
Offensive line: The Badgers have been using their bye week to shuffle some members of the offensive line around.
Several linemen who have been sidelined by injuries are returning, and all should be back by the Michigan game.
Bucky’s 5th Quarter reports that a major move is switching David Heinzen to center after his play at left tackle sent him to the bench.
The normally strong Wisconsin running game has produced just 471 yards and four touchdowns during the 2-and-2 start to the season, averaging just above three yards per carry
Contain, contain, contain: If the Badgers are to beat Michigan on Saturday, they will need to contain Wolverines freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood.
Badgers coach Luke Fickell says that Underwood does a good job of picking and choosing when to run.
Fickell says that a quarterback who can use his feet like Underwood does is dangerous.
The Badgers and Wolvereines kick off at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
