(UW ATHLETICS) MADISON – No. 20 Wisconsin women’s soccer upset the No. 8 Iowa Hawkeyes with a 2-1 victory Thursday night at McClimon.
How it Happened
First Half
Wisconsin wasted no time getting on the board, striking in just the 4th minute when Brooke Allen buried her second goal of the season with an assist from Madison Ishaug.
The Badgers kept the pressure on, controlling the pace of the first half and holding the edge in shots on goal (3-2) and corners (2-0). Wisconsin took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Second Half
Iowa answered back in the 50th minute but Erin Connolly put the Badgers back on top with an assist from Ella Ottey in the 75th minute.
Goalie Drew Stover recorded three saves to secure the 2-1 win.

UW will stay home to face the Michigan State Spartans with kickoff scheduled for noon on Sunday, Sept. 28.
