(WTAQ-WLUK) — An arrest in Green Bay led to the discovery of a large-scale theft operation that expands across Northeast Wisconsin counties.
On Thursday, the Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department with the Seymour Police Department, executed an arrest warrant for a person involved in the theft of tires from numerous locations throughout Northeast Wisconsin.
Subsequently, a search warrant was executed at the residence of that same individual in Green Bay with the assistance of the Green Bay Police Department. Additional assistance was provided by the Algoma Police Department for interpreter services.
At the Green Bay location, evidentiary items along with a vehicle and trailer related to the investigation were located and seized. Also located and seized during the search were illegal drugs, in which the Brown County Drug Task Force assisted in securing, and processing for local charges.
While the initial investigation was based on thefts which involved fraudulent use of credit cards within Kewaunee County, the investigation conducted by the Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department determined that this was part of a much larger scale operation which continues to broaden.
