OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A trio of buildings on the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh campus will be torn down.
Gov. Tony Evers says the Wisconsin State Building Commission met Wednesday and approved $110.2 million in projects statewide. Those projects include the demolition of aging buildings on the UW-Oshkosh, UW-Platteville and UW-Parkside campuses.
“These removals will make way for future development and eliminate costly maintenance burdens,” a news release states.
The impacted UW-Oshkosh buildings are Donner Hall, Webster Hall and Radford Hall. Officials described these buildings as “beyond their useful lives” and “no longer needed.”
According to UW-Oshkosh:
- Donner Hall was built in 1962 and is currently a co-ed residence hall
- Webster Hall was built in 1957 and is currently a co-ed residence hall
- Radford Hall was built in 1952 and currently houses faculty offices for the English department and facilities for the campus health center
Officials say the first portion of this project includes architectural, plumbing, HVAC, electrical and technology work to renovate a portion of Lincoln Hall into a new clinic space for UWO Health Services, so that it can be relocated out of Radford Hall.
The second portion of the project demolishes the three buildings, including basements, foundations and related site work.
Crews will then reconfigure affected site utilities, lighting, parking and pedestrian sidewalks serving adjacent remaining buildings, providing campus green space and making way for a new building at this site.
Work is expected to be complete in December 2026.
