(LEARFIELD) – The Chicago Cubs avoided being swept by the Milwaukee Brewers Wednesday afternoon by slugging their way to a 10-3 win at American Family Field in Milwaukee on Wednesday.
Eight of the visitors’ 11 hits were for extra bases.
Brewers starting and losing pitcher Freedy Peralta had a rough outing, allowing 5 earned runs on 5 hits and 4 walks in just 4 innings.
Peralta talked about the loss.
He was asked if it will be this way next time too.
Peralta said that the Cubs showed great patiences on offense.
Milwaukee catcher William Contreras hit a pair of home runs.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy talked about the Contreras home runs.
Murphy said that his team keeps battling.
Milwaukee is still on top in the NL Central Division standings, leading the Cubs by 1 game.
The Brewers are off today before opening a series with the Nationals at Washington on Friday.
