(LEARFIELD) – Things started to get a bit more real for the Green Bay Packers on Monday as they practiced in pads for the first time.
Packers coach Matt LaFleur said that even with the pads on, the message is the same.
LaFleur talked about wide receiver Malik Heath who enters year 3 with the team.
LaFleur said that he’s not ready to take Aaron Banks off the PUP list to practice in training camp.
LaFleur said that this will be a good test for young players.
Jenkins ready to go: Packers offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins will be at a new position this season, playing center for Green Bay.
Jenkins who was hoping for a new contract with the team in the off-season said the he’s not focused on the contract situation after the switch to center.
Jenkins was asked if the Packers have given him any assurances that they’ll take care of him financially.
Jenkins said that his missing time in the offseason wasn’t a contract situation.
