GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – To meet a growing demand for software professionals, UW-Green Bay announced Tuesday it will add a new major: software engineering.
“Designed in consultation with northeast Wisconsin industry leaders, UW-Green Bay’s graduates of the program will be adept at integrating traditional software engineering and modern AI applications, giving students a unique opportunity while making them highly sought after in the job market. Industries from healthcare and finance to manufacturing and logistics will benefit from an increased local pool of knowledgeable software engineering professionals,” the school said in a news release.
“UW-Green Bay’s new Software Engineering program is a launchpad for students to become creators, innovators and leaders in a rapidly evolving tech landscape. The program immerses students at the forefront of technology, analyzing problems to create solutions that don’t exist yet,” said UW-Green Bay Associate Professor Golam Mushih Tanimul Ahsan. “Through collaboration and discovery, students evolve with the ever-changing curriculum, ensuring the program remains relevant to the region’s workforce needs.”
Applications are now being accepted.
