(247NEWSSOURCE) – The Milwaukee Bucks made a big splash on Tuesday.
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Milwaukee will waive guard Damian Lillard in order to sign former Pacers center Myles Turner.
Milwaukee will stretch the remaining $113 million remaining on Lillard’s contract over the next five years.
Turner is receiving a four-year, $107 million deal that includes a player option and a trade kicker.
Lillard speaks … sort of: Damian Lillard issued a bit of a statement on his being released by the Milwaukee Bucks. On his instagram account, he posted “To Be Continued” and then in a second post wrote “Lillard University.”
Where will Lillard go? CBS Sports’ Sam Quinn took a look around the NBA and came up with a few places where Lillard could play when he regains his health. Among the places are Portland whom the Bucks acquired him from. A trade and more signings: The Bucks are reportedly trading a longtime member of the team.
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Milwaukee is sending guard Pat Connaughton and two second-round picks to the Hornets for guard Vasilije Micic. At least one report, also indicated that Micic’s contract would then be bought out by Milwaukee with him then returning to play in Europe.
Connaughton spent seven seasons with the Bucks and was a part of the 2021 championship team.
The team also signed free agents Gary Harris and Jericho Sims to two-year deals.
