MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A person riding a mobility scooter was taken to the hospital after a crash Wednesday in Manitowoc.
Police say the crash happened just before 11 a.m. on Custer Street at S. 31st Street. According to the investigation, the scooter operator was headed south on 31st, entered the crosswalk and was hit by a vehicle traveling east on Custer.
The victim’s condition was not released.
The driver remained on the scene, police say.
Custer Street was expected to be closed at the intersection until around 4 p.m. for the Wisconsin State Patrol to investigate.
Police are looking for witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to call (920) 686-6551 and refer to incident number 2005-00007140.
