(LEARFIELD) – The Green Bay Packers mandatory mini-camp rolled along yesterday without the released Jaire Alexander.
Packers GM Brian Gutekunst was aksed if there was ever a point they thought Jaire might be back in 2025.
Gutekunst was asked why release Jaire, instead of keeping him, taking the chance that he stays healthy.
Finally, Gutekunst said it was not an easy decision.
Bo Melton to cornerback: With Alexander gone, the Packers have an opening at cornerback so why not try wide receiver Bo Melton there.
Packers coach Matt LaFleur talked about Melton taking reps there on Tuesday.
LaFleur thinks Melton might be a guy who can pull this off.
What did LaFleur see from Melton that makes him think Melton can help at cornerback?
Love talks receivers: Packers quarterback Jordan Love is looking for a lot of production from his wide receivers in the upcoming season.
He said that first-round pick Matthew Golden has been looking good.
Love added that Tucker Kraft is going to be a big part of the offense.
They really want to get the ball to Kraft more downfield.
Love said that it’s important for the wide receivers and him to take the next step.
The mandatory minicamp continues today.
