Lisa Janine Pipp (Menominee, Michigan Police)
BAY OF GREEN BAY (WTAQ-WLUK) — Authorities have recovered the body of a woman who went missing nearly five months ago.
In a news release Friday, the Menominee Police Department confirmed Lisa Pipp’s body was recovered Wednesday in the Bay of Green Bay.
Pipp, 42, of Greendale, disappeared Jan. 13 after she walked away from a vehicle on the ice of Green Bay, near the lighthouse in Menominee, during an argument. She did not take a jacket or her cell phone.
Extensive air, water and ground searches were conducted by multiple agencies over the following weeks, but her body was never found.
It wasn’t until Wednesday that the Door County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a body in the water near Little Strawberry Island. A subsequent autopsy and scientific identification procedures confirmed the remains belonged to Pipp.
Officials say there are no signs of foul play. Final determinations on cause and manner of death are still pending toxicology and full autopsy results.
