(WNFL) – The Milwaukee Brewers gave up 4 runs to the Baltimore Orioles in the 11th inning to allow Baltimore to win the finale of the 3-game series at American Family Field 8-4 on Wednesday afternoon.
Adley Rutschman provided the key blow, hitting a 3-run home run off Brewers losing pitcher Tyler Alexander.
On the bright side, Jackson Chourio, Rhys Hoskings and Chad Durbin each had 2 hits for the Brewers.
Chad Patrick started and went 4 2/3 innings for the Brewers, allowing 1 run on 4 hits and 1 walk while striking out 7.
The Brewers were leading 2-1 after 7 innings before the Orioles scored twice off Nick Mears in the eighth inning on a sacrifice fly and a single.
Milwaukee tied the game in the ninth and sent it to extra innings on Caleb Durbin’s single that scored Sal Frelick.
Both teams scored a run in the tenth inning to send the game to the decisive 11th inning.
Bryan Baker got the win for Baltimore. He pitched the tenth inning for Baltimore. Seranthony Dominguez pitched the 11th inning for Baltimore to get the save.
The Brewers are now 24-26, have split their last 10 games and will open a 4-game series at Pittsburgh against the Pirates on Thursday.
Milwaukee has yet to name a starter for Thursday’s game. Pittsburgh will send Mike Burrows to the mound.
The pre-game show will begin at 6:05 with the first pitch scheduled for 6:40 on 1360 and 97.5 WTAQ.
Notes: The Brewers have yet to record a sweep in 2025. Milwaukee finished its 15-game stretch against American League opponents with a 7-8 (.467) record and fell to .500 (15-15) against AL foes this season. The Crew finished its homestand with a 3-3 (.500) record against Minnesota (1-2) and Baltimore (2-1).
