(WTAQ-WLUK) — As the month of April winds down, so does sturgeon spawning activity on the Wolf River.
As of Monday, sturgeon are still visible at the Shawano Dam, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources reports. Biologists predict that spawning activity could wrap up as soon as Tuesday.
On the upper Fox River, spawning activity has finished at the Princeton Dam.
On the lower Fox River, some sturgeon have been spotted near Voyageur Park in De Pere, but no spawning activity below the De Pere Dam has been reported.
On the Peshtigo River, sturgeon can be seen from the viewing platform at the Peshtigo Dam.
Check the DNR’s sturgeon spawning webpage for updates and viewing locations.
