(LEARFIELD) – Starter Quinn Priester and four relievers stopped the Detroit Tigers on one hit Tuesday night, delivering a 5-0 win for the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
First baseman Rhys Hoskins went 3-for-4 with a homer and two runs batted in as Milwaukee ended its three-game losing streak.
Priester gave up a single to Gleyber Torres and three walks in five-and-a-third innings to earn his first mound victory.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said hats off to the front office for finding a guy like Priester.
Murphy talked about Priester’s outing.
Priester credited preparation for some of his early success.
He said that it’s exciting to string a couple of good outings together early on.
Lefty Jose Quintana is scheduled to start the rubber game of the series this afternoon which you can hear beginning with the pre-game show at 11:35 on 1440 and 101.9 WNFL.
