(LEARFIELD/247NEWSSOURCE) – The Packers hope to load up with good prospects when the 2025 NFL Draft comes to Title Town in less than two weeks.
By one measurement, drafting isn’t a strength for Green Bay.
BetWay-dot-com rated the teams based on the last 10 drafts, awarding points for players who qualified for awards like MVP, Super Bowl MVP, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Offensive or Defensive Rookie of the Year, All-Pros, and a few more.
Green Bay drafted six All-Rookie performers during the decade, to go with five Pro Bowlers, one All-Pro, two Super Bowl champions, and no end-of-the-season award winners. That was good for dead last, 30th.
The Kansas City Chiefs were tops.
Former Packers player Lazard staying put: Allen Lazard will be sticking with the Jets.
According to ESPN, the veteran wide receiver agreed to restructure his contract.
Lazard’s new base salary is a little over two-million-dollars, down from an 11-million-dollar base salary that was not guaranteed.
His cap charge for 2025 was reduced from 13-million-dollars to about four-million-dollars.
New York will incur a “dead” charge of about four-million-dollars in 2026.
