(UW ATHLETICS) – MADISON – The No. 12 Wisconsin men’s basketball team fell to Penn State at the Kohl Center, 86-75 in its final regular season game of the season.
Wisconsin’s senior class of Marcus Ilver, Carter Gilmore, John Tonje, Kamari McGee, Max Klesmit and Steven Crowl was honored prior to tipoff. Crowl scored 19 points in the defeat, matching John Blackwell (19 points) for the team lead in scoring.
Wisconsin opened the game on fire, hitting six of its first seven 3-pointers. UW built a 40-35 halftime lead and five different Badgers had hit a triple.
UW’s defense forced 13 Penn State turnovers, but were unable to stop the Nittany Lion attack in the second half. Penn State’s D’Marco Dunn scored a game-high 25 points and drained 4-of-5 attempts from deep. The Nittany Lions grabbed the lead on a Dunn triple with just over eight minutes to play and kept the Badgers at bay until the final buzzer.
Wisconsin finishes the regular season with a 23-8 record and a 13-7 mark in conference play.

Wisconsin begins postseason play at the Big Ten Tournament next week, with seeding and game times yet to be determined. The tournament begins on March 12 and runs through March 17.
