(LEARFIELD) GREEN BAY – The NFL salary cap for the upcoming season will go up by 25 million dollars according to a Thursday report.
Over the Cap pegs the new limit at 279-point-two million.
The Packers will have about 49 million dollars in cap space.
Green Bay ranks 13th out of the league’s 32 teams.
In the NFC North, the Packers are fourth out of four.
The team could add another six-point-eight million in cap space by trading or releasing often-injured cornerback Jaire Alexander.
