(UW ATHLETICS) MADISON – The No. 21 Wisconsin men’s basketball earned a wire-to-wire victory over the Indiana Hoosiers on Tuesday night, winning 76-64 in front of the Kohl Center crowd. Wisconsin collected its 21st-straight victory over the Hoosiers in Madison, a streak that dates back to 2000.
Wisconsin was led by a balanced attack. John Tonje scored a team-high 15 points. Max Klesmit took on playmaking duties, finishing with 13 points and six assists and three steals. Nolan Winter scored an efficient 12 points on 5-for-7 shooting. Carter Gilmore collected his second-straight game with 10+ points, finishing with 10 points and going a perfect 3-for-3 from deep.

Klesmit also talked about how Carter Gilmore and Kamari McGee are putting things together in their senior seasons.
Badgers coach Greg Gard said that Badgers are finding ways to score every game.
Gard added that his team has good chemistry.
The Badgers rode an electric start, finding themselves on a 24-4 run right out the gate, built up in less than seven minutes of play. Wisconsin started 7-for-8 from deep to ignite the home crowd.
During the Badgers’ first-half barrage, six different Badgers connected on 3-pointers and five of the Badger’s first six field goal makes were from 3-point range. The Badgers finished the half with a 40-28 lead.
Indiana cut Wisconsin’s lead to 11 early in the second half, but the Badgers answered with a 26-14 run to ice the game. Wisconsin won, 76-64, and improved its record to 18-5, with a 8-4 mark in conference play.
The Badgers finished the game 12-for-29 from 3-point range. UW now has 13 games with 10+ made 3-pointers, the most in any season in program history.
Notable:
- Wisconsin claimed its 21st-consecutive home win over Indiana, extending the longest-ever home winning streak against the Hoosiers.
- UW’s 21 straight home wins over IU ranks as the Badgers’ second-longest home win streak against a single opponent, trailing only their active 22-game home win streak against Penn State.
- The Badgers are 12-1 at home this season.
- Wisconsin stormed out to a 19-2 lead for the second-straight game at the Kohl Center, also doing so in an 88-55 win over Nebraska (1/25).
- Klesmit grabbed three steals and dished six assists, both his most in Big Ten play this season. He did not commit a single turnover in the win.
- After scoring in double-figures for the first time in the Badgers’ last time out, Gilmore has now posted 10+ points in back-to-back games.
- Gilmore had not hit three 3s in a game in his career before doing so in each of the last two games. He’s 6-for-8 from distance over the last four days.
