(LEARFIELD) OAKLAND, CA – Starter Frankie Montas was roughed up in a four-run fourth inning as the Oakland A’s edged the Brewers 4-3.
Oakland avoided a sweep.
Milwaukee got home runs from Willy Adames and Gary Sanchez but only managed to come up with two more hits Sunday.
Montas gave up all four runs in six innings of pitching.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy talked about the A’s 4-run fourth inning.
Murphy also talked about the loss.
One bright side was the return to the major league roster of Aaron Ashby who threw 2 scoreless innings of relief.
Murphy talked about getting him back.
The Brewers come out of the weekend with a 10-game lead over the St. Louis Cardinals in the National League Central Division standings.
They are off Monday, returning home to host the San Francisco Giants starting Tuesday.
