GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The author known as “Uncle Fester” faces new bail jumping and drug possession charges Monday, after a traffic stop allegedly discovered him with butane hash oil.
Preisler, 66, gained renown for his books on how to make ricin, methamphetamine and other drugs. Last year, he was charged with multiple drug manufacturing and delivery counts.
An initial court appearance was scheduled for Monday on four counts of bail jumping, and one for possession of THC.
Preisler was free after posting bail. After police witnessed a suspected drug deal in an east-side parking lot Friday, Preisler left the scene in a vehicle. A short time later, he was stopped.
Although no drugs were found on Preisler, the officer noticed small jar with a substance inside on the seat, which would have been under Preisler’s body. The material was butane hash oil, which tested positive for THC – the active ingredient in marijuana, according to the criminal complaint.
Two of the new bail jumping charges are because a urine sample Preisler submitted on July 26 tested positive “for the presence of Methamphetamine, Amphetamine and Ethyl Glucuronide/Ethyl Sulfate (Alcohol) in his system,” the complaint states. His bond included conditions of absolute sobriety.
Preisler has disputed the allegations from the original case, saying the substances were not the illegal materials as prosecutors allege. A Sept. 5 status conference is scheduled in that case.
Preisler also faces a civil suit filed by the city of Green Bay, seeking to have his Baird Street home declared a public nuisance in order to be sold or razed.
