Their backs are to the wall now. The Green Bay Gamblers were shutout by the Muskegon Lumberjacks 2-0 at the Resch Center Tuesday night and now trail the best of five Eastern Conference Semifinal series two games to one. Justin Solovey broke the ice for Muskegon finishing a 3 on 2 rush with 1:14 left in the first period. The scoreless second was highlighted by a pair of fights midway through the period. Muskegon’s Matvel Gridin added an empty net goal in the final seconds which touched off another frustrating brawl after some showboating. Green Bay had opportunities but went 0 for 6 on the power play. Goaltender Adam Gajan was solid with 28 saves and only one goal allowed. The offense has gone quiet scoring just one goal in the last two games after stealing the opener of the series on the road 4-3. Green Bay faces elimination with game four Wednesday night at the Resch facing off at 7:05 PM. A victory will send the series back to Muskegon for the decisive game five on Friday.
