APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Appleton post office will be renamed in honor of firefighter Mitchell Lundgaard.
Lundgaard was shot and killed in 2019 while responding to a medical call.
U.S. Rep. Mike Gallagher, R-8th District, introduced the bill to rename the post office the Mitchell F. Lundgaard Post Office.
The official renaming is set to take place Wednesday morning at the post office. Members of the Lundgaard family, as well as Gallagher, are scheduled to speak.
