MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — Governor Tony Evers this week threatened to veto a Republican shared revenue bill, unless changes are made.
Assembly Speaker Robin Vos was caught off guard
“Our staff met with Governor Evers’ staff on Wednesday, I think it was Wednesday afternoon, where they gave a long list of things that they would like us to consider,” said Vos. “So I hadn’t even had a chance to meet with Senator LeMahieu, our caucus, our leadership team to say, ‘okay, what are there things we could give? Were there things we’re going to really hold strong on?’ And before we even got a chance to do that, Governor Evers issued this veto threat.”
At the Milwaukee Press Club on Friday, Vos called Evers’ comments “kind of bad form.”
He also said the shared revenue bill will be on the Assembly floor for a vote, the week after next.
